Robert is a Principal Scientist in the Health, Nutrition & Care unit of DSM-Firmenich and responsible for clinical research in the field of gut health and microbiome solutions. He earned his PhD in Nutrition and Gastrointestinal Physiology from ETH Zurich Switzerland followed by postdoctoral research at the University of Adelaide, Australia. In addition to his work at DSM-Firmenich, Robert is an Adjunct Associate Professor at the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences at the University of Adelaide and Privatdozent at the University of Zurich. He currently also serves as co-chair of the scientific committee of the International Probiotic Associations (IPA). Robert has co-authored >75 peer-reviewed publications and more than 15 patents.
