Johanna focuses on developing scientifically sound translation of customer and market needs to R&D strategy and projects, being the key Health R&D link to customers and external scientific communities. Previously, she led the GHNS group, which conducts and coordinates in vitro, pre-clinical and clinical studies on IFF’s ingredients. She has extensive R&D experience in understanding the gut microbiota and its impact on health, especially on the influence of probiotics, nutrition and fibers, and she has D.Sc.(Tech) on characterization of predominant human fecal microbiota.
