Robert leads the gut microbiome science and technology programme for Unilever’s nutrition and ice cream divisions and sees the microbes within us as the great enablers of many of the health benefits consumer’s desire. Through partnerships and leveraging the power of collaboration, he is involved in various research projects, currently focused primarily on the gut-brain axis and plant-based diets. Prior to working at Unilever, Robert completed his DPhil at the University of Oxford and continues to be motivated to understand how we might harness the often non-intuitive microbe-host interactions that influence our health; The Good, The Bad and The Bugly.
